Ballot Measures

Act. Vote. Protect our district. Protect our country.

Prop 50

  • Prop 50 strips away our constitutional voter protections that ban maps designed to favor incumbents or political parties.
  • Prop 50 will return California to an era when politicians drew safe districts for themselves that guarantee reelection or the election only of themselves and their buddies — robbing voters of real choices and shutting out many women and people of color from office.
  • Prop 50 eliminates public input and transparency from the redistricting process by letting politicians secretly draw maps behind closed doors.
  • Prop 50's gerrymandered lines carve up communities across California — breaking them apart and making it harder for local communities to receive fair representation. The new districts don’t just determine which party a member of Congress will belong to, but who that member of Congress will listen to — and it won’t be California voters.
  • Prop 50 is a slippery slope that could eliminate citizen-drawn maps entirely, handing the power to draw district lines back to career politicians. Just like with taxes and fees, once politicians seize power, they never give it back.
  • Prop 50 will return California to an era when politicians drew safe districts for themselves that guarantee reelection or the election only of themselves and their buddies — robbing voters of real choices and shutting out many women and people of color from office.
  • Prop 50 is sponsored by the same Sacramento politicians who have crippled California with one of the nation's worst cost-of-living crises. These career politicians want to carve custom districts for themselves and partisan allies that eliminate competition — preventing voters from holding them accountable for their failed leadership.
